I have found a workaround to install trekBuddy on k750 - the phone is not branded but the required thawte cert is missing.

1) you have to upload the 2 files:
halmer.cer and customize_upgrade.xml
in the directory tpa/preset/custom of your phone using XS++ [XS++ included]

2) you have to sign trekbuddy.jar with EQHalmer and produce a JAD file [EQHalmer included]

3) simply install the JAD file

--------------

all required files + some instructions in Russian:

http://tranz.it/load.php?id=PahoFdLKS6t38brZ66912

--------------

ALL AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Good luck!

How about just uploading Thawte certificate? No bothering with signing with EQHalmer or whatever... someone's gonna try? Wink

Attached you may find Thawte certificate, modify customize_upgrade.xml accordingl...

worked! succesfully installed thawte cert using the method mentioned above and the file you provided...
step by step instructions at your own risk:

1) you have to upgrade your k750i to the latest firmware by installing and using SEUS [SEUS can be found in the SE k750i CD]. all the procedure is straightforward, simply follow the instructions.

[*** important! if you do not upgrade to the latest firmware you'll be unable to use XS++ since the PC drivers that are required to connect to the phone while switched off are being activated when upgrading.]

2) download this file:
http://tranz.it/load.php?id=63EYV5Lt3qIAcyXs67292

content:
a) XS++.exe
b) thawte-ca.cer
c) customize_upgrade.xml

3) upload:
thawte-ca.cer and customize_upgrade.xml
in the directory tpa/preset/custom of your phone using XS++

that's it!

-----------------

if you are unsure how to use XS++:

- switch the phone off
- run XS++ and click CONNECT
- plug the phone to the USB cable holding 'C' button of the phone

you should see a message 'connected' or something similar...

- click on the radioButton FSX and wait until the file system is populated
- browse to tpa/preset/custom
- click on UPLOAD and upload both files

Good luck!

Ok, small problem, I'm used to using XS++ on my v630i/w660 hybrid phone, however, i'm afraid downloading the required files is proving to be a problem, since my russian is pretty poor, in fact almost non-existant, meaning I can't follow the download page instructions.

Is is possible to have the thawte cert and the customise_upgrade.xml file zipped up and posted on here for download? I have a copy of XS++ already, and then I can test if this method works on a v630i as well, once I reflash it to v630i instead of w660.

both files are attached. also, you can create customize_upgrade.xml using a text editor:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<customization>
   <security>
      <certificate>
         <name>Thawte</name>
         <type>x509</type>
         <storage>java-3p</storage>
         <datafile>thawte-ca.cer</datafile>
      </certificate>
   </security>
</customization>

good luck!
