Hi,

I installed TrekBuddy 1.1.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S III running android 4.0.4.
I would like TrekBuddy to show my my current location in the OLD Israeli Grid, the NEW Israeli Grid and UTM.

Can this be done?
If yes, How?

I have no interest in having any type of maps.

Thanks

Gadi

Ellipsoid can be a problem, old Israeli datum uses Clarke 1880 Palestine version, a bit different from typical Clarke 1880.
So UTM yes, ITM too, but ICS not.

Hello guys !
I have installed TB on Android 4 and all works fine.
But when I need to use maps based on unknown datum I have a question.
To test а possible of using the maps in OziExplorer I calibrated some map in Bessel 1841 datum and I took sufficient accuracy. To use the map on TB according to http://www.trekbuddy.net/wiki/index.php?title=Customization#Map_Datums
I created a file datums.txt:
Code:
map1{Bessel 1841,0,0,0}=map:map1

Where map1 at the begin of line is the custom datum name which must be defined in calibration file named map1.map (at the end of line above). Also custom datum name (map1) must be same as a name of calibration file (map1.map). After I created the file and I made this changes then I took working properly map in TB.
Because I have more then a hundred such maps then I want to create an atlas. And I have a question:
The custom datum name must be same as .map file. If I use one houndred maps then I will have one hundred .map files and accordingly one hundred custom datum names. As for me this is a bad scheme.
Are there other ways to use a hundred maps whithout using a hundred custom datum names ?
Thanks.

Hi,
First you should have correct datum definition file for used calibration tool.
Let say it is ie OziE Trial and you would use the same custom datum in both apps.
Def file for OziE is very simple, just contains
Code:
datum name, ellipsoid number, dx,dy,dz (3 pts Molodensky transformation to WGS84)

Similar way TB works, but instead of ellipsoid number it uses ellipsoid name
Code:
datum name{reference ellipsoid name, dx, dy, dz}=map:name - where name is just {used datum name} in calibration tool

It is not map name like you supposed Smile

See sample of OziE's calibration file content added to map
Code:

OziExplorer Map Data File Version 2.2
map.png
map.png
1 ,Map Code,
{used datum name},WGS 84,   0.0000,   0.0000,WGS 84
....

So it is enough to define custom datum for both apps once and use it for many maps.
Hope it helps Smile
