Hello,

I would like to get started using TrekBuddy on the Samsung gt-B2710 but I cant get a connection to the phone via USB. So, installing anything is impossible. Kies does not recognize it and Windows 7 64Bit doent either.

What I know so far ist what version the Firmware is (if anyone thinks that this is crucial for further progression):
<SW VER>
B2710BOJL1
<CSC VER>
B2710TMOJL1

Could someone please help me, I feel lost with all the info out there.

greetings.

You can't connect B2710 with PC ...? it's not normal ... try again with update kies. (can take a while ...)

If really it"s not possible, you can copy and paste TB v1.30 (jad + jar) on a micro sd card with sd adapter sd in the PC and after intall the micro sd card in the B2710 ... Install TB with jad file and follow instructions of this topic :

Firmware B2710 version is not important.
Regards

menu>settings>PC connections
    o Samsung Kies
    o Media Player
    o Mass storage
    o Ask on connection

Perhaps you have it set to media player. I have it set to Ask. Each time I connect to PC it asks to connect as kies, player or storage.
Storage works as USB drive and it doesn't need any drivers. Best option for moving files.
If you just want to charge then press no/hangup when asked how to connect.

There is one more thing. Common micro usb cables are too bulky for B2710 and can't be plugged deep enough to make proper connection. You can either get a cable with a less bulky micro USB plug or trim the plastic arround micro usb.

Right, but in the original package B2710, cable is OK. Wink
