Hi,

Here is a report of what I found out with the latest 0.9.57 on my blackberry 8707 with OS 4.2.

- the alx/cod downloads do not work (they can be uploaded to the device but the application does not appear in the list)

- looking into the alx file, I noticed there are several files declared: trekbuddy_bb_v42.cod trekbuddy_bb_v42-1.cod trekbuddy_bb_v42-2.cod, but -1.cod and -2.cod are not présent? I'm not sure if it is an actual problem or a misunderstanding on my side.

- if I download the jad/jar and convert to cod myself using rapc.exe the application can be selected and starts normally (there is no nice icon, though)

- I could select Start, select my bluetooth GPS the first time but I had no fix (I was inside). I then selected Pause and the application locked

- After shuting down the device and restarting trekbuddy, I receive the following error when selecting Start: "Could not create provider [Bluetooth]: java.lang.IllegalStateException: UI engine accessed without holding the event lock".

'hope this helps. Let me know if I can help by testing an intermediate version.

-sbi

Thank you. It seems that -midlet (which I omitted for published cods) is important cmd line option for rapc. Without it, generated cod files can be uploaded to a device, but no icon appears.

The trekbuddy_bb_v42.cod is in fact a package of 3 files; I saw the same situation with Opera Mini for BB, so I listed all 3 files in the alx... anyway, I just tried it, and it seems to have no effect, the applicatiion can be uploaded and run with
Code:
<files>trekbuddy_bb_v41.cod</files>

Hi,
I've successfuly installed TB last night on my BB8820 (branded Orange FR), using BB browser, and installing the JAR file from there.
The application open, and I can see a world map.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to install maps yet. I've looked in the forum, but it's not clear enough for me. Help will be really appreciated ...

Thks

groovy this is the way I did it:
- Got Stitch maps* from http://www.stitchmaps.com/ and Google Earth
- stitched the maps and exported to OziExplorer format
- Used TBMapper to import the maps I stitched
- Export to TB format and transfer new map to device

The advantage of Stitch Maps is that it automatically calibrates the maps for you.

I was already experimenting with this before I found TB so I already had the ozi maps.

* Trial version can't save result map!
