| Simple 2x zoom-in maybe sometime in Q4 2011. I am aware about this issue on hi-DPI devices. |

Hello Kruch.
I use TB for many years (thanks!) on few devices, but recently I also got hi-res Android device. For general (even city) navigation OSM layer 14 were enough for me on 240x320, but on 480 x 854 this is unreadable. My brother in that case just download zoom 16 and 18, but I think this is overkill , simple x2 zoom (maybe connected to fast layer switching) whould be enough for such devices, saving banwidth, flash storage and processing power of OSM servers.
Thanks in advance for not forgeting about this little feature :D |

| This would definitely be a nice feature. Simple pixel doubling and quadrupling would help a lot at following a trail and with overlapping POI labels. |

Hi Kruch!
Did I miss something or is this feature not available yet? I think you mentioned planning simple zooming for Q3 or Q4. The feature would be really great.
-- even a simple magnifying glass -- maybe a special larger version of the crosshair-center of the screen could address the need as well.
nevertheless - congratulations 1.0.18 is great.... |

Hi,
I just made the basic "write-than-read" mistake and wrote a post to a wrong place. I just put my hands on a high-res Android device and found myself surprised on the unreadableness of my well used maps from my old S60 device.
Well, I vote for pixel quadruple option, in any way of implementation. I would really love it!

| Hello Billy06, in one of your posts you said you would have to make new maps, usable on your higher resolution screens. Can you teach how to do it? Or do you have tools to create such maps. I use my Blackberry Storm touch phone as a car navigation on my windshield and I need larger images to be able to view them while sitting on the seat. |

The problem with simply creating appropriate maps is the increase in their size. My current set of UK maps is 12.4 GB, on a 16 GB memory card. Multiplying the pixels by 4 would result in an unacceptable storage requirement, even after allowing for tarring.
If rescaling could be done in software, it would make life so much easier. _________________ Nokia 5230

| I hope I will be able to implement zoom-in (2x) in the next version. |

The last thing to solve is how to trigger zoom in? Short press on (+) zoom spot changes layer, long press open layers list... |
