You need the "France_Overview", but the France mosaic will be supported only in the next release. Perhabs I can finish it today or tomorrow.

If I convert them one by one, will the calibration be ok?
The maps I converted already look very good.

I hope so IIRC the projection is "Lambert Conformal Conic", geodetic date "NTF France".

OziMapTrans version 1.3.0.7

Helge, thanks for that great tool. having said that...
I was using AMAPFly 4 converted to Trekbuddy tar-s. Everything worked super, but today I recognized that while the GPS track on the 1:50000 was quite accurate switching to the 1:25000 map (a25_rax) showed the GPS-track shifted (up to 200m away from the hiking trail!). At home I looked at the coordinates shown in AMAP an found deviations too (xNolltal 15°37,045'O, 47°42,671N was shown as 15,618296°/47,711600 -- the remaining difference was remarkable after conversion to decimal-minutes...)
How can I correct the problem? Is there any trick?
Suggestion for features: trekbuddy doesn't zoom, but perhaps it would be possible/easier to provide a zooming feature in OziMapTrans?

I do not have this map. Can you supply the output of "Map info" and the content of the .map file created by OMT? Do tracks or waypoints show a difference when displayed in AMAP and OziExplorer?

Well, you have a zoom feature in OMT map preview
But I think you meant OMT should create different zoom levels...
Sorry, this is not planned in the near future.

Map Info, map and log is attached. Sorry I don't use OziExplorer. The Tracks were OK (checked by displaying them with MOBAC and TB aon the 1:50000 map and comparing the tracks with tracks from a gps watch). If the map file itself was too much for TB, I can't say...
... but If you look at the coordinates I gave in the last post, you see that OziMapTrans differs from AMAP. The coordinates were taken from the OziMapTrans-Zoom-Window and from the AMAPFly-Display. The same point (Nolltal) was shown on Trekbuddy-Android-1:25000-Headline with 47°42'41.8"N/15°37'6,1"E on AMAP as 15°37,045'O, 47°42,671N and on OziMapTrans-Zoom as 15,618296°/47,711600. I tried to locate the same point on Trekbuddy AMAP1:50000. The 800x480-Display gave: 47°42'40.x"N/15°37'0.9" - but well, I can't guarantee that it was accurately positioned to the pixel...
Hope, this helps... Thanks for the quick/immediate reply!
Zoomed maps: Sorry to hear, but perhaps: would it be easy to adapt the map-files if I did the sizing with gimp or imagemagick?

Just to be sure: what display datum did you choose or is selected in AMAPFly?
Thinking about it, it seems to me that the datum "Hermannskogel" is not correct... Should be "MGI". Other opinions?

It's easy as you just have to change the screen (pixel) coordinates in the map file for each calibration and map border point.

AMAPFly displayed WGS84, but checking AMAP50 against AMAP25 revealed that AMAP itself seems to be inconsistent! So perhaps it's their fault. But that doesn't help me...
You mention Hermannskogel. I found an interesting web-page stating parameters for that map datum:
http://www.explorermagazin.de/gps/mapdatum.htm
... does that help (just search for Hermannskogel on that page, I think you - other than I - will immediately know, what to do to correct the problem with a25_rax...) I am just wondering whether these values only need to be coipied to the map-file?

Thank you, that should help!
Just to be sure: The border point pixcoords are all the Point??,xy-line values <<Point03,xy, 9984, 7936,in>> and the calibration-coords are all the MMPXY,?,-Lines <<MMPXY,3,9984,7936>>?
Thanks!

How/where do I correct the map-File?

Can you please post the content of the "Map Info..." (Karteninfo...) window. I think the string "Hermannskogel" (giving the geodetic datum) simply has to be changed to "Austrian" in the map file, but I do not know if TB supports that datum. I will also change this in the next version, since "Hermannskogel" really seems to be wrong.
Note that if you compare coordinates in different programs, you must ensure that the same display datum is used. OziMapTrans shows coordinates only in the geodetic datum that is used to calibrate the map (for mph/mpr maps this datum is given in the mph file). You can only switch the display format (decimal degrees, dd°mm'ss" and so on).
In other programs like OziExplorer and GeoGrid viewer you can both switch the display datum and display format.
If you want to check calibration it is easier to use waypoints or tracks and compare the display as you do not have to care about geodetic datum.
The map file format is documented in the OziExplorer help file. You can download and install the trial version.

Mapinfo: Sorry, my mistake, it should have been in the zip-File... ...see attachment
OK I overlooked that OziMapTrans showed Hermannskogel-Data while AMAP was configured to show WGS84 for both maps. ...and so only the comparison within AMAP (25 vs 50) was correct - and showed that they at least lack precision with theirt coordinates display (but ovl-tracks are shown ok).
I just tried the change to "Austrian". It didn't help. Neither did using "MGI". Trekbuddy seems to ignore that.

... good luck: that was my starting point=problem - a gpx-track that was shown with wrong positions on the a25... the track itself was ok as well as the display on the ok050_v4. For comparison I attach the map-info for that map as well. Those map-file settings do work.

Thanks, the map info helped and convinced me that "Austrian" is correct and "Hermannskogel" is wrong.

"MGI" is not a predefined map datum for OziExplorer, "Austrian" is. I think TB does not know "Austrian" out of the box, but you can add it (search for "datums.txt" in the wiki).

Just to explain the difference: ok050_v4 uses a different projection (UTM) and different calibration datum (WGS 84). OK, no problems.
Projection of a25_rax is "Transversal Mercator" with parameters also known as "Austria M34". Geodetic datum of the reference point shows "GD_MGI" which should be translated to "Austrian" for OziExplorer (and not "Hermannskogel"). I am sorry for that mistake.

(1) See above. "Austrian" should be OK, but I think you have to add it to "datums.txt" for TB.
(2) This week (only 6 hours left...)

Thank you, that helped. I took Info from the Austrian BEV homepage (www.bev.gv.at)and tried it in the datums.txt. At least my track was shown at the correct position. I added lines for Hermannskogel and Austrian, thus the current as well as the corrected version from OziMapTrans should work from now on:
| Code: |
Austrian{Bessel 1841,577.326,90.129,463.919}=map:Hermannskogel
Austrian{Bessel 1841,577.326,90.129,463.919}=map:Austrian |
Thanks for the ultraquick help!

datums.txt File to be stored in the resources directory of Trekbuddy.
With that the Austrian Map 1:25000 Rax/Schneeberg worked for me |

OK, it's already Monday here. Anyway, I just uploaded the new version.
The former addendum ("IMS_TopoMap_Spain.zip") is now part of the regular release. I hope the new features and bug fixes are useful.
