Yes I have the amr files in the sound folder.
And I have selected route along...
Dthe day after I had posted the previous message. I again tried with a different route (around 30 Km of travelling distance) I only got the sound on reaching my final destination (something to the tune of "we have arrived at the destination" same as the content of nav8.amr.). Also on my map only teh final destination appears as a waypoint i.e. a small red circle. The rest of teh route is plotted using a thick brown line.
The following is a snippet of the tail end portion of my gpx file
<wpt lat="12.9242" lon="77.60022">
<cmt>Turn left</cmt>
<sym>35</sym>
<link href="nav5.amr"/>
</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92457" lon="77.59706">
<cmt>Turn right at E End Rd</cmt>
<sym>54</sym>
<link href="nav4.amr"/>
</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92699" lon="77.59709">
<cmt>Turn left at 32 Cross Rd</cmt>
<sym>45</sym>
<link href="nav5.amr"/>
</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92695" lon="77.59538">
<sym>51</sym>

</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92707" lon="77.59107">

</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92703" lon="77.5899">

</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92715" lon="77.58955">

</wpt>
<wpt lat="12.92767" lon="77.589">

This is so strange. Are you able to run correctly the "route along" feature with a normal gpx file containing only <wpt lat=.. lon=..> </wpt> elements ?
If the behaviour still the same, you must check with kruch in other topic

Hi,
i can't get the sounds to work which should be played when you near a waypoint
i use a Nokia C5 and did all the steps in the first post.
i use the Digiblue14 CMS theme
i made a gpx file with convWPT and copied the soundfiles in the /sounds directory.
when i tested my route the symbols in CMS changed and every time i was 50m away from a wayoint my phone vibrated and beeped but didn't play the soundfile i copied existing mp3 over and named them nav0.mp3 etc. and changed the .gpx file acordingly but it also didn't played the mp3s)
do you have tips for me how i can get TB to play my soundfiles?
edit: i tried a normal .gpx file and it correctly played the wpt.amr soundfile. but as soon as i use the altered gpx like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<gpx version="1.1">
<prevsym>1</prevsym>
<wpt lat="48.7999631" lon="9.2200227">
<sym> 0</sym>
<link href="nav0.amr"/>
</wpt>
<wpt lat="48.8011746" lon="9.2202345">
<sym>04</sym>
<link href="nav4.amr"/>
</wpt>
<wpt lat="48.8028905" lon="9.2197008">
<sym>48</sym>
<link href="nav8.amr"/>
</wpt>
</gpx>
it does not play any sounds.
greetings from germany

Yes, it is possible to use mp3 directions voices in links; voices are played from TB sounds folder, if link doesn't contain folder name in path. Sounds are played when wpt proximity is reached, so you can use real nmea log with simulator in TB to have wpts reached. Another way is to use GPSBabel and convert prepared wpts file to nmea log and use it with simulator in TB.
One more - you can use sounds in guides different way, ie like points voice comments. In such case you can use your guide subfolder in wpts for gpx file (with proper links), pictures and voice comments. In many of phone models you can record own sounds (system function), probably in N70 too. |
I hope this help you...
EDIT: And, in the other hand, you wrote:
but as soon as i use the altered gpx like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<gpx version="1.1">
<prevsym>1</prevsym>
<wpt lat="48.7999631" lon="9.2200227">

<wpt lat="48.8011746" lon="9.2202345">

<wpt lat="48.8028905" lon="9.2197008">
<sym>48</sym>
<link href="nav8.amr"/>
</wpt>
</gpx>
it does not play any sounds.
...
if you had stored your voice files like mp3 and instructions tell amr...
... is normal you don't hear them.
EDIT2:

If you let me a hint, change in ConvWPT -->'Tools' Menu -->'Settings' in 'Sound Hyperlinks' cell where extension default to wav (or mp3 if it is supported by your phone) and you will not have to change the gpx file any more.
Cheers.

hi,
thanks for the help but that wasn't the problem, by altered i meant an altered gpx file by ConvWPT
normal:
<trk>
<name>Route_2011.3.10_2035</name>
<trkseg>
<trkpt lon="9.2200227" lat="48.7999631"/>
<trkpt lon="9.220448771333203" lat="48.800033251843075"/>
<trkpt lon="9.2203914" lat="48.8003817"/>
.
.
.
i think i know now what's the problem. i tried different things today and one of the things was to rename nav8.amr in wpt.amr and then i used a normal gpx file.
as i reached my waypoint it startet the sound but almost instantly stopped it but it was lang enough to recognize that nav8 was played, i think the same happens to my other nav.amr files.
is this a bug in the software or is there a way to edit the time my soundfile is played? nomaly it should be played to the end?
edit: how do i enter a folder name ? eventually it will work when i specify the folder?
is it only:
<link href="sounds\nav8.amr"/> ??

Hi,
I am new to trekbuddy and just tried to install the navigation converter
on my Windows 7 64 bit system. I believe to have the latest version
ConvWPT_v1.83.
When starting ConvWPT.exe I am getting a message (translated from german)
The control element 'UniText' could not be loaded. Your version may be outdated.
Ensure that you use a version of the control element which has been delivered with your application
Any idea what I can do here?
Is there some help how to compile the source code?
Greetings, huha

| Hi, I'm new TB user, it's a great app, full customizeable and user friendly. I'm a mac os user, and I have a lots of problem to install convWPT (wine support for mac is very 'pure'), so maybe it would be nice idea to rewrite it in php/.net/... and make a nice universal os webapp (upload file, view file, edit and export)?

|
|
Hello,
I've just wanted to edit my waypoints using the map I prepared in MoBAC, but there was a problem with map loading (option "Plot Waypoints"). After clicking on "Use Maps" button I couldn't load any map from the atlas (I can see only folders, but not files). I couldn't find the solution for this problem on the forum.
I am using ConvWPT_v1.83. GPX file was generated using GMapToGPX.
I can post the atlas file, but it's quite big (274 MB).
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi again, Ranger! (and all of the TB forum, of course )
How are you?
Here i am to disturb you .
Recently i've changed my smartphone since four years ago (my loved Nokia N70) for a new LG Optimus L5 (E610) with ICS Android 4.0.3 with screen resolution 320x480.
I wonder if you will be so kind to make your CMS (http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=24528#24528) and your CMS by Modified version of MaleSmurf's - CMS gris (http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=18865#18865) changed for CMS Gris 2 for Android (320x456) (http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=27873#27873)
Thank you very much.
My best wishes for you, guys
Cheers.

Picture field size was set to 220x270 due larger screen.
But you can easy change it if you would. It is enough to open profile file in notepad, and set picture size.
| Code: |
<area x="4" y="86" w="220" h="270" align="left">
<value>{wpt-img}</value>
</area> |
