I used trekbuddy successful on Nokia 5230, Sony C905 ...

On a N8, there are problems with showing the map, perhaps it's why i didn't installed the symbian-service (the maps are tar-packed), but the symbian helper can't be installed (certificate error), the N8 has Symbian^3 ! Thanks for your help

Did you sign TB Service at https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/public/openSignedOnline.do ?
EDIT: link not valid anymore. You need to register at symbian signed for signing applications.

I can see the map, but the screensaver appears after 30 seconds. Where is the button for the backlight ? I know, it's the position right top on the touchscreen, but nothing happens. How do i switch the backlight (ok, it's an oled) on ?

yesterday the map appeared - today this morning the map appeared very slow (after mintes !), and many tiles were missing or very slow loading. The symbian service is running. After ending the application the screensaver didn't appear ! After a restart of the phone. trekbuddy showed following message:

Init map
dz:
Invalid header: '20 20 20 20 20 2c 4e'

I hope, there are solutions for these problems, i like trekbuddy with OSM very much ...

I have the same problem. Nokia E51. Helper installed.

[3] null: dz: Invalid header:'67 a 6d 5f 31 34 31'

Reinstall not helped. Uploading new maps also not helped Sad. I will try install older version.

SOLVED:
In Settings->Misc.

broken I/O - Turn off
large atlases - Turn on

My Nokia N8 is back from service (!) and i tried trekbuddy again. I think, the problem is the symbian-helper-application, it seems not to work properly with symbian^3, which is on the new Nokia N8, C7-00, C6-01.

Trekbuddy starts, but no backlight, sometimes it works with backlight, sometimes there is a message (Could'nt access the service ... error). The map (tared) can i sew sometimes, mostly not or very very slow ...

But i love trekbuddy (to see the OSM work ...)

I hope there will be a new symbian helper app ...

Now i can say when trekbuddy works and when not !

It works when the N8 has contact to a known WLAN and when it has internet access. Trekbuddy communicates with the symbianhelper over IP. If symbian^3 has no IP-Connection to the internet, symbianhelper does not work.

If i'm outside (no WLAN and no GPRS-Data-Connection), Trekbuddy seems not to be able to access the symbianhelper.

Is there a solution possible ? I think this could be a general problem with symbian^3.
