Hi,

the elevation shown in my area is constantly around 50 meters to high, so I thought using the "Alt correction" option in the settings would be a good idea.
Unfortunately it is not possible to enter a negative value on my Nokia E71, the edit field only accepts "real" number characters. I can enter "50", but not "-50".
Is there a way around this?

Nico

You just cannot enter minus sign, or you get an exception (eg. NumberformatException) when closing the form?

I just can't enter it, but there is no exception. On my Nokia E71 I have to press two keys to enter the minus sign, but they are just ignored. I can only enter the digits from 0 to 9.

However, I was able to cut and paste the minus sign into the edit box eventually (the hotkeys for this still work). So it is really only a problem with entering the digits - once they minus sign is there everything's working fine Wink

Since there is no copy-paste shortcut key on Nokia E52 I cannot enter "-25" for elevation correction either. Maybe in new version?

I have to implement a workaround, it seems like model-specific bug.

I second with Nokia E52, having numeric field constrain issue too.
It has classic mobile kbd, so issue mentioned affects not only qwerty kbds.
It also seems to affect only java apps, not native symbian ones.

I missed this thread before posting mine

Note that Nokia E52 does have shortcuts for copy paste

# and left/right joystick keys for selections,
# and left softkey for copy
# and right softkey for paste.

these work in text fields like default map url in settings/basic
end even in altitude correction numeric field itself.

But if I perform copy from other field, e.g. location timings ( minuses there )
pasting is unexpectedly not offered for altitude correction field, probably due mentioned strictly numeric values constrains.
