Hello all
I'm a bit new to this so apologies if I missed something obvious. I've installed the latest version of TrekBuddy on my K800 and had a go at making some maps. That all works fine. Today my TomTom Wireless GPS dongle arrived so I've paired it with my phone but it doesn't remain connected and tells me there are 'No Local services found' when I refresh the 'Services' list.
I'm desperate to get this working so any guidance is much appreciated.

Also. I'm not sure if it's relevant but I only installed the .JAR of the latest version of TB. The User Guide by Ranger, for the K750i I think, suggests downloading both the .JAR and .JAD to do the install.
Could this effect the fact I can't get my Bluetooth GPS to send satellite information to the software?
Could it be that I needed to pair the GPS before running TB for the first time?
Help! I so want to get this working. |

A. You should download both and install from the jad.
B. The BT receiver should be paired with the phone first. If there's still a problem, under Settings > Location, when Bluetooth is selected there's a setting called Keep-alive. Try setting this to, for example, 2000 milliseconds.
And, of course, make sure the receiver's got a good view of the satellites and give it time to download the ephemeris tables the first time and when it hasn't been used for a while. _________________ Nokia 5230

Perfect. I got it working. Did a 15 mile track into work this morning and it all seems to be working just fine.
I'm now looking forward to playing on the hills.
Cheers for your advice Cactus. |
