Changelog
- new: Android bluetooth GPS support (only paired devices)
- fixed some Android repaint issues
- fixed: "No profiles found" issue on some devices
- smoother midlet start (on some devices)
- lowmem I/O tar maps mode should perform better in forward direction (more or less Samsing specific)
* There is a single Android build that should work on all versions.
* This is hopefully the last time Blackberry users loose their TrekBuddy configuration during upgrade (known BB issue): beginning with this version, TB, in addition to using RMS, also dumps its settings to resources/settings.dat file whenever Settings are saved. Then, when TB does not find its configuration in RMS, it will use this file as fallback. And on BB devices, TB also saves datadir location into BB-specific persistent storage which survives midlet upgrade. Ufff...
* Beginning with 1.0.0, I will again try to shorten release cycles to deliver bugfixes and new features more quickly.
Plan for 1.0.0: only new critical bugfixes + thumbnail preview fix, negative alt correction fix, add scrollbar width option, and maybe 0* issue
New features planned for some early 1.0.x versions: support hecl-http for live tracking "plugins", notify on any proximite POI

If I change level of backlight on Nokia 6233 via long keypressing "3", sometime TB crashes with errormessage "Array Index Out Of Bounds java/lang/ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException". I don't now if TB 0997 behaves by the same way - I upgraded from v. 0995 (there was everything OK). |
The problem I described in previous version and here still exists but I found regularity and I can reproduce thist statement at any time on NOKIA 6233
Firstly I start TB, than I wait till backlight turns off automatically, after it I press "3" shortly:
- 1st press - backlight approx 20%
- 2nd press - backlight approx 50%
- 3th press - backlight approx 75%
- 4th press - backlight 100%
- 5th press - backlight off
after it I press "3" long and TB crashes with errormessage "Array Index Out Of Bounds java/lang/ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException".
note:
Wouldn't be better to use a small number in percent instead of icon of backlight in the right bottom corner? Icon is very nice but it is impossible to find level of backlight from it. |

Thanks for the new version!
I found these problems (on Samsung B5702 ):
- loading built-in map at startup is "slow" (about 20 secs? - in 0.9.98 it was loaded almost instatly)
- map scrolling is broken (at least with settings that worked in 0.9.98 ) - if I load a waypoint and then GoTo, only approx. 1/4 of the screen is repainted (this vary from time to time) and map scrolling takes place only in this region; this happens with cursor keys, didn't try with GPS yet. Trying to play with settings, hopefully somethig could help(?). |

Really!? This is very good news ... thanks a lot if it works that way

[quote="kruch"][...] and maybe 0* issue
If you are inside this, please check also the following:
IIRC in the past (some versions before) if I selected SHOW ALL (waypints) and toggled *0 to see the WPT names, the names of all waypoints were visible even after entering a new waypoint and navigating to it.
This broke some time ago and I have to press *0 over and over again after selecting new waypoints to navigate to if I want to see all the names.
Thanks

Without any guarantee, but somebody added LG Area to the list of compatible devices

Maybe we should have in wiki column showing which devices just are working with app out of the box, means are TB friendly.
Some phones are usable with special hacks only, but not all users are able to do it. |

Am I right in thinking that the error that I get when I press the top right hand corner of the screen on my Nokia 5230 ("Service not accssible. java.io.IOException: SymbianOS error = -34 : General: System error") isn't a current version issue? Is this the error that I would need to install the TB service for?
Thanks!

Yes, on Symbian devices TB is not able to control backlight without the help of native application. |

Yes, works-out-of-the-box flag would be helpful indeed. |
