I have SE C702 now and I'm planning to upgrade to Sonny Ericsson Elm. I was wandering if anybody has already tried TrekBuddy on this phone. Please share your experience with us.

- How sensitive is inbuilt GPS? Is it better or worse than the one in C702? The phone is newer, but on the other hand, it has aluminum back cover, which could cause worse GPS signal reception.

- How long does it take to turn on GPS (without AGPS)? C702 with the latest firmware can be sometimes really fast. But in some situations it is impossible to turn on GPS without any reason. Sometimes only reset helps, sometimes it is necessary to allow AGPS.

- How fast is map loading and scrolling? Are there any speed improvements on Sony Ericsson Elm.

I just installed TB on SE Elm, and it seems it can't connect to gps for some reason. The signal dot is yellow when it's set on Internal Location, and blue when on stream.
The built in Wisepilot is connecting to gps in the same conditions.

Do you have any idea if I might change some settings to help it connect?

I have bought Sony Ericsson Elm and have to warn everybody. The quality of the internal GPS is low. Elm is very inaccurate, compared to C702. Elm's signal reception is a nightmare. I have often problems to turn the GPS on. This is nearly impossible with AGPS (assisted GPS) is disabled. The only think which was improved in Elm is the battery life. If you are lucky enough to have the GPS turned on, Elm can last excellent 10 hours (compared to 6 hours with C702).

(sorry for "guest" sign-in but still without membership)
I also use a Garmin Nuvi so I can say the signal on Sony Ericsson J10i2 Elm is not so bad: downtown buildings & towers are always a problem.

But sure, the software is working fine and without error on this device! Very Happy

Thanks all
Gio
