I'm having some trouble to get Trekbuddy to work well on my Samsung S8000 Jet. I tried to find answers on the forum but maybe I overlooked them. Can anybody help?
1. I can't install Trekbuddy from the jad file, so I can't set the permissions to Always and I can't hide the menu in the bottom of the screen.
2. There's something wrong with total distance, it seems to add itself every second, if I've traveled 2 km the total distance grows with about 2 km/s. This is the same behaviour HTC TyTn II had if using the internal GPS provider.
3. If I stop following a route, and press 1 again to change to another route, Trekbuddy quits.
4. I can't use an atlas, only maps. Maybe this is because I use untared atlases?
5. The phone seems to enlarge the map, until I press the left ....-button, then it 'zooms out'. If I use any other function it zooms back in. Although I know many are looking for this (trekbuddy zooming in and out without having to make different maps), I doubt it's meant as a new feature.
Does anybody have a solution for any of those problems?
Apart from those things Trekbuddy is running good and I enjoy using it a lot.

@5 I found out that this only happens in full screen mode. If not in full screen there is no zooming and the screen is seen as 480x540 (although it is 480x800).
I'm trying to update the firmware to Dutch firmware but that doesn't work with windows 7...
I do have three more issues:
1. if there is no connection to the gps, I can't 'stop' it. Only way to stop and try again seems to be to exit TB and start again.
2. The scroll bar doesn't work, if I use it it directly selects a file or waypoint.
3. Scrolling in lists works the other way around as I expect, if I want to scroll down, I have to move my finger upwards on the screen.
Thanks for your help,
Gisela

Update:
I finally installed TKExplorer and so I could get the jad to work. I added
Code:
MIDlet-Touch-Support: true
to the jad so I lost some of the extra keys on the bottom of the screen. It works fine, except for long lists because it's impossible to scroll in lists. 'Menu' and 'Start' are still on the bottom of the screen, and they do not dissappear if you tap any key, like they did on the HTC TyTn. Is there any way to lose those last 'keys'?
The atlas works now, there was something wrong with the filenames.
I've updated the firmware but it still reports
Code:
I18n nl-FR ISO8859_1
I suppose it should be ...nl-NL ISO...
The language file I added to the ui-profiles doesn't work.

Disable softkeys menu: Settings->Desktop->no softkey menu. Or with JAD by adding
Code:
App-Flags: ui_no_softkey_menu

With this line added to JAD, the menu is disabled indeed but there is still a black line at the bottom of the screen. I'd rather have the whole screen filled with my map, but since this takes only a minor part of the screen I can live with it.
Do you know how I can get the scrollbar to work in lists of waypoint files and lists of waypoints? If I touch the scrollbar I automatically select something in the list so I can't scroll. Maybe this is because the scrollbar is very small, too small to select.
Thank you for your patience and help!

How small is it? Could you make a screenshot?

I made a picture, hope it's clear enough.

Dear All Samsung Jet Users,
I am not able to used tared atlases on my Jet.
I created the atlases with Mobile Atlas Creator 1.7. Everything works weel with it. I cpoy the files on my Jet, but I only can access to the first layer (others are totally black).
I succeed creating an untared atlas, I can use it on all layers (till level 17) BUT the phone hangs up because it gives 12000 jpg files with the area I mapped. It seems the phone needs too much time the handle the 12000 files... The access to the memory card becomes very very slow.
Then, how to create and handle correctly tared atlases on Jet ?

It might have something to do with the filenames. My atlas didn't work because there were spaces in the filenames and foldernames. But I use an untared atlas, and in my case the whole atlas didn't work, not even one layer....
Good luck!

Dear all,
The newest version 0.9.99 is installed on my s8000jet. Everything works fine, except the waypoint menu. My problem is a long list of waypoints in the gpx file on my s8000jet. I can sort the waypoints but I can not scroll through the list. Everytime I am touching the screen on the right side, where the small scroll bar is showing, tb immediatly opens the waypoint info and DOES NOT scroll. The problem was already mentioned above. Is there a solution at the moment?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Bert

Dear all,
I have problems to take a snapshot in waypoints. I got the error
javax.microedition.media.MediaExeption.start
The waypoint can be saved and the directory for the picture is generated, but no foto is inside.
Has anybody an idea?
Thanks a lot, Bert
