Changelog 0.9.56 download link
- Windows Mobile support (J9)
- new provider: Serial - for COM ports GPS
- support for custom icons for waypoint on map, course arrows and crosshair
- new in CMS: {wpt-vmg}, {wpt-eta}
- distances are in "luki" form (either km or M)
- "smart" GPX works as before
- tweaked HPS colors a bit for day mode
- waypoint files prefixes unified
- current primitive touchscreen handling updated and slightly improved
- keylock - press * for a while
Custom icons
You can use custom icons for waypoint mark, course arrows and/or crosshair if you put wpt.png, courses.png and courses2.png and/or crosshairs.png to DataDir/resources folder. You should keep image(s) proportions, the rest is up to you.
Waypoint files prefixes
Recorded waypoints file has wgps- prefix, custom waypoints file wmap- and file for waypoints received via SMS wsms- prefix.
J9
A special build for J9 java runtime will be available from now on. It is inteded for Windows Mobile devices. The only difference from generic version are crosshair and course arrows images since J9 does not seem to support alpha trasparency.
On J9 with file connection (JSR75) extension (see viewtopic.php?t=286), TrekBuddy seems to run flawlessly. The only thing not supported by J9 that I've found so far is SMS messaging (JSR120), that means no location sharing for TB. In WM, virtual COM port can be created for bluetooth GPS, and then Serial location provider in TB can be used for tracking.

lukis right.
loading maps now works on N95 *bow*
but installation with jad still doesn't work. same errors as before.
when installing only the jar, there are some questions to answer when starting TB, and then it does its job.

@bighand: did you try fw upgrade? I find nothing wrong about permissions in JAD... unfortunately Nokia remote access does not seem to support installation with jad, so I can't investigate further...
EDIT: here's a build without Location permission - could you try it?

Two notes to keylocking on nokia E50:
1) it is on * not #
2) for me it locks numeric keys, but I still can pop the menu. Is that what it should do?
Great work kruch, thanks for tb.

Right it is *
Unfortunately, the menu (commands) are beyond my control. For now...

Thanks for the new feature :). Can you please attach that "fancy" arrows from your shot to your post?

i just tested TB, and it works fine, now that it loads maps.
don't mind to much about the permissions, i'll make the maps big enough so i'm not no much bothered with giving file read or write permission.
i checked fw again, and it is the latest version. the differences between installin with or without JAD are that i can give permissions for gps, file read and write etc. in program manager and it does not work when i install with jad.
And that it works, but i have to give file access permission etc. everytime i read maps... when i install without jad.
so i will go on using TB without jad.
btw: i do not use any nokia-PC software for installation. i copy the files to the card and install them with build-in filemanager.
ah, and i the build without location permission makes no differences.

- courses.png is an arrow sequence for azimuth 0-80, with 10-degree step.
- courses2.png is an arrow sequence for azimuth 90-170 degrees, with 10-degree step.
Rotated (at runtime) by 180 degrees, they are used for azimuth 180-260 and 270-350.
I hope that Zoki will post his images that I've used in the example to Themes topic... ?
If you are looking for examples, just open trekbuddy.jar as an archive (it is a zip), and look at resources directory inside - you will find default icons images that TB uses...

I used bigger arrows on my phone becouse original were too small on my screen. Motorola A780 has 240x320 screen, and diametar of original crosshairs is only 10mm.
When I put bigger arrows on older versions of TB (before CMS) they worked exellent and I discovered full potentional of that great program.
When you put waypoint at your destination location it is realy usefull to watch cours arrow, and you can switch from navigate to track.
HPS screen is also much better with big arrow.
On newer versions (with CMS) with bigger arrows I had error while scrolling:
[7 ] null:
cz.kruch.track.maps.InvalidMapE
xception: Slice loading failed:
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
or
[8] null:
cz.kruch.track.maps.InvalidMapE
xception: Slice loading failed:
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
So I had to changed map tiles dimension, from 300x400 to 250x330, and now TB works exellent even with bigger arrows.
Courses arrows, crosshairs and icon from my phone.
Hope you can use it.
