I have created a very simple CMS panel. MaleSmurf’s CMS is very nice and sophisticated but isn’t absolutely reliable (casual problems on NOKIA 6233 during switching between panels) and isn’t usable in practice – there are a lot of lines, icons, etc. and it is very difficult to read data on a small display on running bike or on sunshine, etc.
The panel contains:
    Number of active satellites
    Status of GPS
    Coordinates
    Current time, time of trek
Current speed, maximal speed, average speed - it isn’t very useful for trekking Wink
Current altitude, total ascent and descent (it is possible to set damping of quick change these dates)
Distance between current position and waypoint
Difference between altitude of current position and waypoint

There is a parameter on the first row of scrpt.hcl. The damping of quick change of total ascent and descent depends on this parameter (higher parameter = lower speed of changes). It is good experiment and try to set a few of values of this parameter (just about 10 - 360). Results may be different for different average speed of moving (car, bike, on foot).

CZ:

Version 1.1
There are two new parameters in scrpt.hcl. Both parameters serves for better compensation of changes of total ascent and descent when you stay without moving.
alt-time - Time interval for counting average altitude [sec] – default 120
spd-min - Minimal accepted speed for counting average altitude [km/h or mph] – default 2
alt-min-diff - Minimal accepted difference of average altitude for report [m] – default 5
Default values are good for mountainbiking. It is good to experiment and try to set a few of values of these parameters. Results may be different for different average speeds of moving (car, bike, on foot).
If you set new parameters (spd-min and alt-min-dif) 0 - CMS behaves by the same way as previous version.
It would be great to compare results between this CMS, GARMIN and any barometric altimeter but a don’t have neither GARMIN nor altimeter Sad

Version 1.2
There is a new parameter in scrpt.hcl „pause-max“ - Maximal accepted pause for counting average altitude [sec]
If this parameter is bigger than 0 so after „PAUSE“ (Fire >> Pause) longer than pause-max average altitude will be calculate afresh (ascent or descent during „Pause“ will be ignored).
In example if you go on a trek and in the middle of your way you want to go by funicular – during way by funicular will TrekBuddy „Paused“. In previous versions CMS (1.0 - 1.1) after „Continue“ will this ascent (or descent) added to the total ascent (or descent), but in a new version (1.2) not (if „Pause“ is longer than „pause-max“).
If you set this parameter (pause-max) 0 - CMS behaves by the same way as previous version.

There is new version of The simplest CMS (1.2) with a small improvement..
If you set this parameter (pause-max) 0 - CMS behaves by the same way as previous version

Thanks for your cool CMS (v1.2) which I graphically adapted for Nokia E61, BlackBerry, etc. 320x240.
Could you please change the subject of this thread in 240x320 - which is the correct resolution of your CMS.
