http://forumuk.samsungmobile.com/PostsList.aspx?ForumPostID=142508:

"I had this same Java memory error, but managed to resolve it.

If anyone is having the same problem, and hasn't managed to sort it out, here is what I did (gathered from another web site):

Updating the Java's database. On your mobile phone click on the 'Dial' button, than dial '*#6984125*#' go to 'Internals' enter the following Master Key '*#9072641*#' Go to 'Storage Settings' and click on 'Update Java DB'.

Worked for me.

Owen"

Hi

I just changed my phone from a SE W760i to the Sumsung S8300 UltraTouch.

The above mentioned method allows me to run Trekbuddy, but now I keep running into "out of memory" errors when loading some maps (that had no problems loading on the W760i). What exactly is the problem? What memory is to small to load what part of the map files?

I would appreciate it very much if someone could explain what exactly could cause these problems and perhaps how it could be solved.

Hi, I have just tried these code and both return "Unknown Command". The Samsung Forum seems to have disappeared. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I have since changed to a Samsung i5700, but here are some information I gathered earlier (from various sources) when I still had the S8300:

Codes:

Service-Menu: *#6984125*# (for Vodafone-branded phones: *#3695147*#)

Master-Key for 'Internals' menu: *#9072641*# (for Vodafone-branded phones: *#3971258*#)

Code for 'Pre-config' menu (operator code): *#73561*# (for Vodafone: *#83301*#)

Bluetooth ID: *#232337#

Battery Info: *#0228#

Test-Menu: *#0*#

Software version: *#1234#

Show IMEI: *#06#

Master-Reset: *2767*3855#

If you're having memory problems with your Java applications (which is not normal):
Dial *#6984125*#
Go to "Internals"
Enter the Master Key *#9072641*#
Go to "Storage Settings"
And click on "Update Java DB"
Done!
