Uncut map images and Ozi files. I use TBCutter to cut the tiles.

Datum should be NAD27-CONUS, UTM projection, magnetic declination of 15 degrees West for both.

THANK YOU!!!

Hmmm, looks ok to me... the position on the picture is approximately in the middle of the map 1, UTM coords match grid lines, as well as in Ozi...

Android version is missing a few features that are in standard version:
    - wpt "phototagging" (taking picture and link it to wpt being recorded via Waypoints->Record Current)
    -location exchange via SMS

Anyone is missing them?

I've noticed just yesterday that the location SMS is missing when someone on another forum mentioned a new app that does exactly that and I wanted to note that TrekBuddy, being the great program that it is, already does that, but found out it actually doesn't on Android. But not really missing them, no (although the SMS feature could sometimes come in handy, I guess). Phototagging is already done by the standard camera app (well, at least by the HTC standard camera app and some of the third party camera apps).

OK I'll implement location SMS feature for android version. I will also change the SMS format to that Garmin XT app is using to be compatible with it.

I know camera app can put gps coords into the picture, but when you have gpx with linked pictures, you can eg. convert it to kmz and open in Google Earth, and then you get baloon windows displaying a picture when you click on a wpt.. but, never mind.

Kruch,

What tool did you use to cut the map tiles? I'm still having a problem with the calibration in TB - the map calibration is approx 200 meters off in the northing and 50 meters off to the west. Ozi shows a perfectly calibrated map, but once I cut the tiles, the calibration is lost.

I have been using TBCutter.. the version that you uploaded to the forum. Maybe I am doing something wrong here?

Thank you!

@joshkorn I also use tbcutter (909312 bytes, dated 2006-12-22). Would you upload the map somewhere and tell me the position to check?

Link to the tiles:

Again, map seems to be calibrated fine in Ozi, but then after cut and placement onto SD card, TB's calibration is about 200 meters South and 50 meters West.

Thank you!

Also - new version is great.. love the ability to tap menu items!

AH Kruch..

So sorry. Just found out my race director switched from NAD27 - his usual datum, to WGS84.. and of course he didn't tell me ("you didn't ask.." was his response). So I recalibrated in WGS84, cut the tiles, and voila works like a charm. TB works great. Thanks for humoring me even though I know you're probably ridiculously busy. What a great developer!

Keep up the good work and thank you once again,
Josh

@Kruch: great job on getting TB on Android Smile. TB would benefit more from this platform if ported to use native Android API Java classes instead of just emulated J2ME. I know that this is much more work to be done, but the Android API is very good and not so hard to learn if you already know java. This way you could easily use many features that you are now locked to use from J2ME (for example Compass and other sensors data, screen orientation changes and configuration etc).

@stinger: to invoke virtual keyboard anytime anywhere you just need to press and hold the menu button (at least it works that way on Magic).

Forceclose while recording a track yesterday Sad

Also, is there any chance you could add support for the NAD83 datum? I have a nice map that uses this.

When forceclose happens, you could pull log from the device, it would be helpful.

TB supports most datums you can think of.
