SE docs says: "Use cases when Back action doesn't exist ... When a screen needs four or more actions, the first action should be displayed on the middle soft key and the second one on the right soft key. All other actions have to be gathered on an options menu on the left soft key."

Hmmm.

I wonder what would happen if I added a command of Back type that would do nothing... it should map to the right key, but if it would help to hide the menu bar... who knows.

Hi

Just a thought to resolve the recent discussion, but maybe not easy to implement and maybe keys can not be "controlled" at all...

Since different devices seems to handle buttons differently, is it not possible to let the user decide which keys to assign to which events - to extend the keymap functionality with more intelligent functionality, a default keymap and a supportive built-in key-assign-function in TB?

I do understand it may be complex to implement and make sure that user does not program conflicting buttons, but I think this would be a helpful feature and resolve keys acting differently on different devices.

Let the setup program ask questions during setup:

Code:
- Which key(s) do you wish to assign to up?
- Which key(s) do you wish to assign to down?
...
- Which key(s) do you wish to use for 'back' and 'cancel'?
...

Of course, a bit tricky to program to support key functions like "keeping the 1" key pressed for some time, support several keys for same functionality (like two-state keys) or support series of keystrokes (like * + 0).

The resulting keymap file could be a understandable XML, like...

Code:
<keymap>
<up>49</up>
<down>50</down>
<back>...
....

Best regards
/Tomas

What does Info->Technical->DeviceCtrl say?

Hi,

Thanks to any help.

Question on 'Waypoints': 'RouteAlong' / 'RouteBack' (as described in wiki) --- are they gone in 0.9.89 beta?
Or are those menu items only shown in case of a specific waypoint file format?

Tks for advice - Jakob.

@Jakob no change, no dependency on format; open a file, Route Along/Back commands should be available..

Found it --- right procedure seems to be:

Code:

Waypoints -> select a file -> select a waypoint -> options; menu is then:
1 NavigateTo
2 RouteAlong
3 RouteBack
4 GoTo
5 Edit
6 Delete

I thought I had seen the RouteAlong/RouteBack already one menu earlier in previous versions, on 'options', after 'select a file' (where we have 'NavigateTo' as well right now) ...
Anyway, thanks for your hint!

Route commands should be available once you open a file, you should not need to open wpt detail page.

Code:
'Sort By Name', or 'Sort By Distance'
=> route commands are not available after waypoints file has been opened, only after a waypoint has been selected.

'Sort By Position'

[quote="kruch"]THIS VERSION IS BUGGY - DO NO USE IT

Changelog
[list]- map size limit increased to 1048575x1048575; also map (not tile!) loading is now less memory intensive operation; also tiles meta info is consuimg less memory

Hello Kruch:

When you bring these new map size, that means I can expand the Parameters of googleak from about 32512x32512 to 1048575x1048575?

What parameters i need to put in "slice size", and what is the means of that term?

Thank you,

RSG.
