- firmware 3.40
- bluetooth GPS Nokia LD-3W

"Ask always" is the only mode usable for file access, so tar-ed maps have to be used; fortunately, JSR-75/FileConnection API implementation is quite good - a slice from ~7 MB map pack is loaded in 1-2 secs.

- for tracklogs to work, you need to allow the application phone write access: Applications->Collection, point to Trekbuddy, Options->Application access->Phones access->Add and edit data, select "Ask every time".

- I use 300x400 pixels size slices

- connection with Nokia LD-3W is absolutely stable

The installation of trekbuddy and tb cutter has been very easy and it runs very good.
Yesterday I loaded a 50k topografical map of my hometown.
Only I have to confirm loading each map from the memory chip and I didn´t find on the Nokia to confirm generally.
Do you have an idea?

Go to Applications, find TrekBuddy, and then Options->Application access->Phone access->Read user data->Always allowed.

Yes, I tried it before.
On my 6230i I am only able to choose between "ask every time" and "not allow" at both menues you described.
Report: "Not for this file available".
My firmware is a little later than yours and the datas are stored in the MMC.

Are you using latest signed version? Did you install it via Nokia PC Suite? Did you have JAD file in the same directory as the JAR file?

Now I used your downloadling for both files and it runs.

(The first installation has been set without the jad-file.)

Thank you very much.

May be my problem is stupid, but i discovered trackbuddy a couple days ago and am not familiar with this appllication.
I installed the latest version on my Nokia 6230i (i had to remove .jad file - the reason is probably the old version of fw - so the midlet asks for every approach to MMC - but thats is not the problem).

I downloaded automapa CZ ( mad1) from the link on this forum. But I am not able to load the atlas. In the TB file browser i select the .tba file. But it writes: map selection - prázdná. The same when i try any other map or atlas.

Please help!

I have Nokia 6230i fw 03.50. If I use the latest .jar .jad for installation through Nokia PC suite - the installation is not succesfull. I have to remove jad - then all works but the annoying prompts.

The problem is bad fw?
What fw do I have to have, so that I could use the signed midlet?

I'm using 3.40, krzysiekz has 3.70, I think, and - no troubles with installing signed version.

What is the error you get when installing with JAD via PC Suite? And PC Suite version? Is "Thawte Code Signing CA" in the list in Menu->Web->Settings->Security->Authority certificates->Certificate list?

@Jindrich: can you check lettercase of calibration and set files (and set directories)? I think they have to be lowercase; if it is like
Code:

CZ_auto\CZ_auto\plz\plz.MAP

then TB will not recognize such map...

Thanks for reply. It really was the big letters .MAP Now I have renamed to .map - it works.

The installation via Nokia PC Suite (version 6.6.1Cool proceeds, but then when i fire to run the application on the phone - it shows "neplatný soubor". I checked the certificate list but the "Thawte Code Signing CA" is not included !!!

Is there any help?

o=UTI
ou=Certification Services Division...Thawte
ou=Class 3 Public.. Verisign

And I'm using PC Suite 6.82, but I can't say if it matters...

I would try firmware update. Not only for missing certificates, but I think 3.50 is troublesome....

Hello.
I've got Nokia 6230i too and I have 3.81 firmware and the same problem here. When I install TB WITH JAD file I can't open it in my phone. When I try to open it I get warning: "invalid application". When I install without JAD file I don't have "always allow" option. I have the same certificates as 'guest' - no "Thawte Code Signing CA" certificate.
Any idea what to do?
Thanks,
bz

If the phone is branded, I would try to ask for non-branded firmware upgrade at a service center.
Also, on Nokia phones, if you use .tar maps, you will be prompted to confirm access only once.
