Hi everyone

Trying to use TB, I loaded a map. Now every time it changes tiles, the application asks if it can read/write user data.

Is there any way of overcoming this?

In my PERMISSIONS settings for the java application, I can only choose NO or ALWAYS ASK.

Thanks

Rui

Hi ruivaz:

You have to install TB from JAD file and not from JAR.

See further information on: http://wiki.trekbuddy.net/index.php/Installation#Known_Issues

Perfect.

I noticed that I HAD to use the cable to send the JAD file, since by bluetooth it always gave errors and that was messing things up.

Thanks very much for making me read that page again.

using bluetooth phone tries to install jad immediately, without having jar yet.
you can rename *.jad, and *.jar to *._ad, *._ar (or something else), send to phone (using bluetooth) then rename back (using some file manager) and install.

this is the way to install without a cable.

what about other applications?
using TB is good to have some file manager to move/copy tracks etc.
Would you suggest that type application which makes no trouble with user data pemissions?

p.m.

I use opera mini mod (hacked opera mini) which has file manager.
to avoid read/write permission requests I have hacked my phone (k750), so it supports halmer certificate (some dummy cert.) and I'm using a tool that can certify any java app, providing me a *.jad file with halmer certificate.

there's an application MobyExplorer which is signed with Thawte, but it's a little unconfortable to use, unless you pay for it.

I would not reccomend to manage files on the mobile but i would reccomend MyPhoneExplorer for SonyEricsson Phones

It manages contacts, shortmessanges, calls, and Files in the phone and on its memorystick.
