| Hi, is it possible to get the CMS to display the co-ords for the location in the OSGB format? This is the std grid for the OS maps used in Great Britain. Being able to display those would be a great help when hiking/cycling.

I think that Settings->Basic->Coordinates (format) should be effective for CMS as well. So for <Map Grid> (and <UTM>) selection, {wpt-coords} should show complete grid coordinates; {wpt-lat} would be x (easting) and {wpt-lon} would be y {northing).
Opinions?

Why not. I don't have exactly sample for OSGB, but IG works this way.

| If it works for IG, then it must work for OSGB too.

I'm using the Car Navigation theme, with an OSGB map at zoom level 8 and WGS84 maps at levels 10, 12, 14 and 16. The only place where the map selection alters the theme display is in the ALL panel, where the top line changes between OSGB and DMS display depending on the map selected. The NAV and GEO panels display DMS all the time.
While we're on this topic, I notice that the units used for speed change according to the settings, but the theme always displays "km/h". E.g. for 10 miles per hour, the theme shows "10 km/h". No big deal, but is it possible to change the display when other units are selected?

It is hardcoded literal in the xml in the theme... new variables, like {spd-units} etc, would have to be introduced.

| Or just variable {units} having values ie 1,2,3 for unit system (metric, nautical etc) to choose correct units symbols set ?

Thought so. Thanks for the info. Maybe an idea for the future?

Hi, I've set that but still get the Lat/Lon format coord. I think it must be the map setup. I'll look into that a bit more and let you know what I find out. Cheers for the ideas.

My experience is that you need to have an OSGB/BNG calibrated map selected, plus Settings > Basic > Default datum: OSGB 36 and Coordinates: <Map Grid>.

If calibration info contains datum info (and Ozi's .map files do), then Settings > Basic > Default datum is ignored!
In 0.9.79, for single coordinate (lat, lon) reference in CMS, Settings->Coordinate was ignored, but in 0.980 it is taken into account nad you should see grid coord(s) everywhere.

Ah - I see what you mean. You just need an OSGB map selected and Settings > Basic > Coordinates: <Map grid>.
0.9.80: grid coordinates work nicely in all the CMS screens. Thanks!

I have just come back to trekbuddy after a year or so and am impressed by changes. I am struggling to get OSGB36 displayed at all. I have seen the setting for OSGB and I also selected Grid but with no success yet. Am not sure I understand by an OSGB calibrated map? I am using gm2tb as a source of maps.
So firstly, can I get OSGB to display on the desktop (top of the map)?
Is there another tool I could use to calibrate the maps or do I have to express the calibration in OSGB36 format?
Regards,
James

| Yes, you have to express the calibration in OSGB36. And there is no better tool than Ozi Explorer for calibrating maps, I think.

Tools I've used to create OSGB/BNG maps for TB:
Googleak, to produce an Ozi map.
Ozi Map Merge ( http://www.oziexplorer3.com/mapmerge/mapmerge.html ) to convert WGS84/Mercator to OSGB36/BNG and trim to rectangle.
DeMapper ( http://www.terraperfecta.com/demapper.php ) to convert Map Merge's .ozfx3 file to .png
Edit the map file, changing .ozfx3 to .png
TBCutter to create map tiles
Then a script to create tar and tmi files and pack it all into an atlas.
I found it too much work to convert all levels, so I only created an OSGB/BNG map at the top level, with all lower levels in the original WGS/Mercator. If I need the OSGB/BNG coordinates, I zoom to the top level (although I'm not sure if TB then clicks to the nearest pixel, thus losing accuracy).
Hope this helps more than it confuses
