I have upgraded my phone from K750i to Nokia N80. I have just tested TrekBuddy. It works fine and looks great on high resolution display (416*352 pix.)
The only problem is confirming of slices read, as on other devices Sad.
I will try TAR map, if it will solve the problem.

Excellent news! Very Happy

Edit:

I'm thinking of making crosshair & course arrow bigger, even on 208x208/176x220 displays (which I consider to be "standard") it is a bit small.

I have discovered, that TB on N80 works slightly different from K750i.

1. It doesn't work asteriks for switching between layers in atlas. (nothing happens)

2. It doesn't work hashmark for map selection (nothing happens)

3. Using 3 button change the intensity of backlite (0,50,100%) instead of switching always on/off. If I set 0%, the backlite is off for all phone operations and there is no way how to force the display to be backlited just for a while.

So you either have to always switch 50% and 0% when I want to look at the map and give the phone to my pocket, or the phone will light all the time even in my pocket. After about 1 min, screensaver activates, but the screen never stops lightning and battery goes down very fast.

On K750i it works better, when backlite is off, display lights for about 15sec after pushing any button, and then lightning stops.

EDIT:
Until I use 3 button it works similar to k750i. The backlite intensity goes down after about 20 sec, and after about another 30 sec the backlite goes out at all (same as with 0% intensity).
Would it be possible to set 0% intensity bahaviour same as phone default works?

I hope to have S60 device (2nd - 6680) for a few days for testing soon, and will check TB behaviour on it...

Did anyone test the signed TB 0.95rc3 on a SymbianS60v3? A Nokia N80 or E50,E60,E70? Now it should be perfect without the slice-reading confirmation.

lives maybe you have some thoughts about the N80?
mbit how about your E50?

I'd love to have a E60,E70 or N80 to use TB on a 416*352 display Smile E60's price is pretty reasonable. Just waiting for the price to drop some more and a nice offer of a new one or preferrably second-hand Very Happy

Yes, it works fine on my E50! Still problems with memory though, can't use big slices.

How big?

Since now I'm using unpacked maps too, I'll see if there's a place for optimization in this code path... I'm also preparing environment for on-device debugging (Netbeans + K750i), I hope it supports profiling too...

I have to oppose - on Nokia 5500 (208x208) the croshair seem fine to me, it's optimal size, I think...

Yes, I can confirm this - map loading works fine...
Edit: Even atlases work fine and internal provider on 5500 is certified.

I have just tested 0.9.5rc3 on N80. Signing is fine, I don't have to confirm reading any more.
Now, I have problem with my older maps. TB stop with an exception - Too few calibration points. It seems to be simple to add new points.
I just ask - What is the minimum point number?

I'm using 480x640, and sometimes (but not too often) i'm getting an out of memory error, despite the amount of memory on a E50.

2 is minimum accepted, 4 is better. Could you send me one of your calibration files?

All my calibration files has 2-4 calibration points.
The *.map file for all maps looks like that:
Code:
Point01,xy,309,32,in,deg,50,10.0000,N,14,25.0000,E,grid,,,,N
Point02,xy,4910,3085,in,deg,49,55.0000,N,15,0.0000,E,grid,,,,N
IWH,MapImageWidth/Height,4941,3207

or that (4 points)
Code:
Point01,xy,0,0,in,deg,51,3.5718,N,12,5.1384,E,grid,,,,S
Point02,xy,8000,0,in,deg,51,3.5718,N,18,53.1384,E,grid,,,,S
Point03,xy,8000,4432,in,deg,48,32.8752,N,18,53.1384,E,grid,,,,S
Point04,xy,0,4432,in,deg,48,32.8752,N,12,5.1384,E,grid,,,,S
IWH,MapImageWidth/Height,8000,4432

I get the error message only on some maps, others (also with 2 calibration points) works fine.
I get the message also when loading atlas.
Some maps and whole atlas is not possible to use due to that error.

I would need the one in which that TB finds "too few calibration points", to debug it...
